Mixed Media Mittwoch

Heute darf ich Euch auf dem Cards und More Shop Blog wieder ein Werk zeigen. Ich hab nochmal ein Tag mit den Gelatos von Faber-Castell gemacht. Aus passendem Anlass ist es ein Halloween Tag. Eigentlich hatte ich etwas weihnachtliches geplant, jedoch hab ich mir kürzlich das tolle Video von Helen Allen angesehen und war total inspiriert.

It's a Cards und More day today and I'd like to show you another Tag I created with the Faber-Castell Gelatos. I planned something Christmas themed, but then I saw Helen Allen's Video and was totally inspired to create a Halloween Tag!

Diesmal hatte ich kein fertiges Tag mehr, also hab ich mir eins aus braunem Kraft Cardstock geschnitten und mit Gesso grundiert. Es ist wichtig, dass man es gut grundiert - ich hab das leider nicht gemacht - dann klappt das mit dem Mond besser.

I cut my tag out of craft cardstock and covered it with gesso. It's important to cover it very well (what I didn't) - so the moon will look much better.

 

Ich verwende hier die Gelatos: Red Cherry, Mango, Lemon, Grape und Black Licorice und verblende sie mit dem Finger.

Anschließend mach ich den Mond mit Hilfe eine Babyfeuchttuches und der Dutch Doobadoo Bubbles Schablone wieder weiß (leider hab ich davon kein Foto gemach...) Den jetzt weißen Mond maskiere ich mit einem stück Papier....

After that I make my moon using a baby wipe and the Dutch Doobadoo Bubbles stencil. I wiped away the Gelatos (sorry, I didn't take a picture). I mask the white moon now with a piece of paper....

 ... und wische rund um den Mond meinen Hintergrund auch noch etwas heller.

... and wipe some more color away to lighten it's background.

Hier seht Ihr nun das Ergebnis... und hätte ich vorher gründlich grundiert, dann wär mein Mond auch ganz weiß!

Here you can see the result... and if I had covered my surface accurate, I would have got a white moon.

Damit der Hintergrund noch etwas Textur bekommt hab ich aus mangel an grußeligen Hintergründen mit der Shatter Schablone von Tim Holtz und StazOn auf mein Tag gestempelt. Das heißt, ich hab die Schablone eingefäbt und anschließend auf mein Tag gedrückt (schnell!!!).
Super wäre an der Stelle ein geeignerter Stempel gewesen. (Den Mond sollte man dabei dann auch maskieren)

To texture my background I stamped with the Shatter stencil by Tim Holtz and StazOn on my tag, as I have no creepy stamps. I inked up the stencil and put it immediately on the surface. A stamp would have been better. (And the moon should be covered also).

 

Hier hab ich mir unten noch ein bisschen Landschaft mit dem schwarzen Gelato aufgemalt und mit den Fingern etwas verblendet. Dem Tag hab ich außerdem noch einen schwarzen Rand verpasst.

I added some landscape on the bottom with my black Gelato and blended it with my fingers. I also framed my tag black.

Und weil mich das mit dem Mond etwas geärgert hat, hab ich den noch mithilfe eines Embossing Pens und weißem Embossingpulver versucht zu retten. Die Kontur hab ich mit meinem White Pen gezogen.

Because I was angry about my moon I embossed it with white embossing powder using an embossing pen. I draw the outlines with my white pen.

Die Kürbise und die Spinne hab ich mir mit der Cameo geschnitten. Die Kürbise hab ich mit Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Ripe Permission) schattiert und mit einem schwarzen Fineliner die Konturen nachgezogen. Anschließend hab ich sie mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Vor dem Aufbringen der Kürbisse auf dem Tag hab ich an den Stellen an denen die Kürbise ausgeschnitten sind noch gelbe und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgetragen.Für die Schatten der Kürbise und meine schwarze Häkelbordüre hab ich noch schwarze Stickles verwendet.

The pumpkins and the spider are cut with my Silhouette Cameo. The pumpkins are colored with some Distress Inks (Peeled Paint and Ripe Permission). I draw the outlines with a fine black pen. Finally I added some Glossy Accents. Before I adhered them to my tag I colored with white and yellow acrylic paint the surface where my pumpkins are cut. For the shadows of the lanterns and the black lace border I used some black stickles.

An mein Band hab ich den putzigen Eulen Anhänger mit einer Sicherheitsnadel befestigt. Den Text "Trick or Treat" hab ich am PC ausgedruckt und mit dem Mustard Seed Distress Marker eingefärbt. Die Konturen hab ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner gemacht. Auf die Spinne hab ich ebenfalls Glossy Accents.

I added the lovely owl charm to my ribbon. The "Trick or Treat" was print with my PC and colored with the Mustard Seed Distress Marker. I draw the outlines with my fine black pen. I added Glossy Accents to my spider as well.

Mixed Media Kärtchen und ein neuer Digi Stamp

A mixed media card and a new digi stamp.



Ich liebe diese kleine Eule! Den Digi Stamp hab ich vor einigen Wochen gezeichnet und auf dieser Karte hab ich ihn  zum ersten Mal verwendet. Es ist wieder mal eine Mixed Media Karte. Ich hab Gelatos, Strukturpaste, Fran-tage, Glimmer Mist und Distress Ink verwendet. Außerdem hab ich eine Anleitung gemacht. Die findet Ihr wenn Ihr etwas nach unten scrolled.


I love this little owl! Some weeks ago I created this digi stamp and this is the first time I used it. This card is a mixed media card again. I used Gelatos, Embossing Paste, Frantage, Glimmer Mist and Distress Inks. I did a tutorial on this card. Scroll down to have a look how this card is done.

Tutorial:

Zuerst machen wir den Hintergrund in Holzoptik mit Distress Inks, Gelatos und Distress Markern. Ich hab türkises Papier verwendet  und evergreen bough von den Distress Inks. Mit dem blending tool oder einem Schaumstoffstück färbt Ihr das Papier mit hilfe der Tinte ein.

First of all we create a woodgrain background with Distress Inks, Gelatos and Distress Markers. I used a turquois cardstock and the evergreen bough Distress color. Get yourself a foam pad, ink it up with your stamppad and wipe over the card. Repeat that until you like it.

Jetzt fahr ich noch 1-2 mal mit dem Stempelkissen selbst über den Hintergrund. Das gibt etwas mehr Struktur.
Danach setzt Ihr mit einem weißen Gelato und einer passenden Farbe (ich hab metallic mint verwendet) ein paar Akzente.

For more texture I wipe my stamppad for 1-2 times over the background. After that you accentuate it with the white gelato and I used also the metallic mint.

 Das ganze verwischt Ihr mit einem Feuchttuch:

Take a baby wipe and smooth the gelatos:

Am Schluss zeichnet Ihr die Holzbalken mit dem passenden Distress Marker und einem Lineal ein. Um es natürlicher aussehen zu lassen könnt Ihr die Linien freihand noch ein bisschen nachmalen.

Now you draw the bars with a ruler and the matching marker. You can create some inperfection of the lines afterwards with the marker freehanded.

Jetzt wählt Ihr eine Schablone aus (natürlich könnt Ihr auch einen Stempel und VersaMark verwenden). Legt die Schablone auf die Karte und macht Embossing Paste drauf. Ich nehme ganz normale Strukturpaste. Gebt Embossingpulver auf die Paste und lasst sie trocknen. Erst dann schmelzt Ihr das Pulver mit dem Heißluftfön

Now it's time to select a stencil (of course you can also use a background stamp and a VersaMark). Place it on your card and add some Embossing Paste. Cover the Paste with embossing powder. I used Fran-tage Shabby Blue. Let the paste dry before you emboss it with your heat gun.

Für das orange papier hab ich drei verschiende Gelatos verwendet (Lemon, Mango und Tangerine). Ich hab die Farbe nach Geschmack auf den Cardstock gemalt (diesen hab ich vorher mit Gesso bepinselt).

For the orange layer I used three different Gelatos (Lemon, Mango and Tangerine). Put the colors randomly on a sheet of "gessoed" cardstock.

Mit einem Pinsel und Wasser könnt Ihr die Farbe mischen. Bis es Euch gefällt. 

Take a paint brush, some water and blend the colors into each other.

Am Schluss hab ich die Kanten noch mit dem Distress Tool älter gemacht.

When it's dry you can distress the edges with a distress tool.

Das Herz (ebenfalls Cardstock mit Gesso) hab ich mit Glimmer Mist (turquois blue) besprüht. Gesso nehm ich sehr gern, weil die Farben dann vom Papier nicht absorbiert werden.

I sprayed the heart with Glimmer Mist (turquois blue). The cardstock is also covered with Gesso. I love using Gesso because the colors don't get absorbed by the paper.

Legt alles übereinander, sucht einen süßen Stempel aus und wenn Ihr mögt einen Spruch und Embellishments. Ich hoffe Euch gefällt das Tutorial.

Put all the layers together. Add a nice image and if you want a sentiment and some other embellishments! I hope you like the tutorial.
